As the name suggests, the China Doll Laser Facial also known as ‘Laser Carbon Peel’ is a unique treatment which leaves you with glowing skin after just one treatment. By combining the power of laser with carbon, you are left with a clear, illuminated complexion.

The China Doll Facial consists of a state of the art Q-switched Nd-Yag laser, paired with a medical grade carbon serum. The serum maximises the lasers capability for the destruction of debris clogged in the pores and upper layers of the skin, as well as for treating minor skin imperfections, giving skin a glow from within!

What can you expect from your China Doll Facial experience?

Every new patient receives a tailored consultation with a cosmetic registered nurse – taking into consideration personal skin concerns, skin quality & medical history and in turn developing an individual treatment plan. Generally, a course of treatments will be required at regular intervals to achieve the best results.

Your skin will be cleansed and prepared with a special solution to ensure the carbon is able to penetrate the skin. The laser is then passed over the skin for a few minutes, blasting away the carbon and any congestion in its path, clogged pores, blackheads and dead skin cells. A second pass with the laser will allow for laser toning, to target pigmentation and large pores. The laser stimulates cells within your skin, resulting in the breakdown of pigmented areas.

It is common to feel a warm prickling sensation over the skin, however this is a very comfortable treatment.

Following the laser treatment, an enzyme infused mask is applied, allowing for active ingredients to infuse into the skin. After care products of serums, hydrating creams and SPF are applied to finish your treatment.

The initial clear and glowing completion can be seen immediately post treatment. However, to ensure optimal results are reached, we recommend a minimum course of 4 treatments in monthly intervals, dependent on the skin concern.

What are the risks?

While the China Doll Facial is a superficial treatment with minimal risks of long term adverse results, certain considerations must be assessed. Contraindications which must be disclosed to your practitioner include:
• Active infection of treatment site
• Active cold sores
• Extremely sensitive skin
• Those prone to keloid scarring
• The use of isotretinoin (roaccutane) within 6 months
• Currently pregnant or breastfeeding

What is the recovery like?

The China Doll facial comes with minimal downtime. After your treatment, you can expect some mild redness at most. In the days following, you may experience dry or tight skin and we recommend using predominantly hydrating skin care products.

We recommend you do not use any active ingredients for 5 days post treatment, and refrain from picking at the dry skin. It is important that you stay out of the sun and wear SPF daily as your skin will be more susceptible to sun damage. You can wear makeup the following day.

It is vital in following the aftercare instructions explained by your clinician to ensure optimal results are achieved. In order to amplify your results even further, we recommend complementing your skin needling with a Healite II LED treatment straight after your treatment.
